Its width is perfect... you can shape sections so easily and its not skimpy on size, yet the bigger ones you can't shape the sections like you can on this one. It really, really heats up in one minute, hot and perfect. The decorations of flowers just makes you smile when you use it because its beautiful. The heat mat is an awesome addition and I use it everyday. I'm going to Ireland in a week and plan to take this with me! The best iron that money can buy! You WILL be 100% satisfied, I promise! I'm so glad I didn't get the skinny iron or the wider iron. The item is well made and strong. I love the temperature control... the best iron ever!!!!
