(More customer reviews)I've had the same hairdryer since high school that I inherited from an aunt who bought it used from a professional hair stylist. The thing is heavy, loud, and at least 20 years old but it's an Italian made professional hairdryer.
I decided to finally replace it with something more modern, lighter, and less loud. From the reviews and the fancy Ionic/Tourmaline title I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm sure technology has changed in 20 years, right?
I was SO disappointed when I finally got to use it. Sure, it's lightweight, but it feels cheap. It's not any quieter than my ol' dinosaur and if it is it's not bymuch. The accessories are awkward, keep falling off and don't attach very securely.
The worst offense tho, are the heat settings. There are two: hot and hotter. I haven't actually tried the hotter setting as the "warm" is hot enough and I don't want to fry my hair, thank you. There is supposedly a 'cool shot' button but it's warm at best and you have to hold it down and press hard. Because it was still warm, I couldn't tell if I was pressing it right or not. My old hairdryer has a clear hot, warm, and cold setting that react instantly with the flip of a switch. The "cool shot" eventually cooled down but again, it was warm at best.
I gave this product a 3 since I compared it to what apparently is a quality-made, 20 year old professional Italian hairdryer and I have no idea how it compares to other hairdryers currently on the market. The Abstrax Wigo WGA6002 is made in China.
