(More customer reviews)I enjoy(ed) the HAI iron better than the CHI I had previously because it has a temperature control.Some days I wanted to touch up and a low setting did the job (without damaging my hair as much)and other days when the fog rolled in I needed that 400 degree setting!The original CHI, according to Farouk's website states that the CHI gets to its singular tempature "302-356 F or 150-180 C in only 6-10 seconds."I prefer the versatility the temperature settings provide with the HAI.
The HAI gives me the same gorgeous smooth straight locks the CHI always did (I have the worst curly/frizzy hair EVER!) Especially when combined with Matrix Sleek Look Shampoo and Conditioner and, while my hair is still wet, Super Skinny Serum by Paul Mitchell.(BUY these products if you have thick course hair.. NOT thin... you won't regret it!)
However, after a year the HAI is not able to hold the level of heat it once did.After running the iron through my hair once, its little LED light would indicated that it needed time to be heated up to the desired temperature.Unfortunately, if you look at Folica's website there are many reviews that state that the HAI dies in about a years time.What it comes down to is this: Is it worth eighty to ninety dollars for a year of straight beautiful hair?In my opinion... YES YES YES!But I will be sampling a Sedu this time as those are supposed to be amazing and the life seems to be a bit longer.
